How it works
Ask Instagram for your data
In Accounts Centre, choose "Download your information", tick "Followers and following" and pick JSON. It takes about a minute to set up.
Drop the file in
Choose the ZIP file Instagram sends you, or the followers and following JSON files inside it. It is read right here in your browser.
Read your lists
In a few seconds you see who does not follow you back, who you do not follow back, and your mutuals.
Never asked Instagram for your data before? Follow the export guide, with every tap on iPhone, Android and a computer.
What you get
Not following you back
Everyone you follow who does not follow you, the list most people come here for.
You do not follow back
People who follow you that you have not followed, so nobody slips past.
Mutuals
The follows that go both ways, counted and searchable.
Who unfollowed you
Import a newer export later and see who left, who arrived and who you unfollowed in between.
Search and spreadsheet export
Find any username in a list of thousands, and download any list as a CSV file.
Works offline
Once the page has loaded it keeps working with the network switched off, because nothing needs a server.
Why there is no Instagram login
Instagram has no official way for another app to read your follower list. Unfollower apps that ask for your username and password sign in as you, and a login handed to an app you do not know is the easiest way to lose an account. Reading follower lists at speed can also trip Instagram’s security checks.
IG Diff works from your own data instead. You request it through Instagram’s official “Download your information” tool, and the file is read here without ever touching your account. Doing that twice, a few weeks apart, is also how to see who unfollowed you.
Questions people ask
Is IG Diff free?
Yes. There is no account, no subscription and no limit on how many exports you check or how often.
Do I have to log in to Instagram or give my password?
No. IG Diff never asks for your Instagram username, password or any other login. It reads the data export Instagram gives you on request, so it never connects to your account at all.
Can using IG Diff get my Instagram account banned?
IG Diff does not touch your Instagram account, so there is nothing for Instagram to notice. You request your own data through Instagram’s official "Download your information" tool and open the file here. Apps that sign in as you are the ones that put an account at risk.
Are my followers uploaded anywhere?
No. The export is read by your browser on your device, and the lists are saved only in this browser’s storage. You can erase them at any time from Settings.
How do I see who unfollowed me on Instagram?
Instagram does not tell you when someone unfollows. Import an export today, request a fresh one in a few weeks, and import that too. IG Diff compares the two and lists exactly who unfollowed you in between.
Which file do I need from Instagram?
The "Download your information" export with "Followers and following" ticked and the format set to JSON. An HTML export cannot be read. The export guide shows every step on iPhone, Android and a computer.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. IG Diff runs in any modern browser, on a phone, tablet or computer. On a phone, choose the ZIP file from your Downloads or Files app.
Can IG Diff show who viewed my profile or my stories?
No. Instagram does not include profile visitors in your data export and does not share them with any app, so any tool claiming to show them is guessing or misleading you.
Is IG Diff made by Instagram?
No. IG Diff is an independent tool made by Alien-dev. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram or Meta.
